Hi, how is everyone this week, well I hope?
Well no idea why – the situation we are in I’m guessing but I’ve been all nostalgic this week, thinking of when we first opened the Farsley salon. Craig already had his own salon & I was working freelance & teaching at Thomas Danby College (if anyone can even remember that). We had made the decision to open a salon, organised our finances & now just needed a location. We looked at Farsley as though neither of us were from the area we had friends who lived there & we really liked it. At the time there were only two other salons on the Town Street near the Co-Op so we didn’t think another one lower down would be detrimental to their business. We arranged a viewing of the premises – No 62 – it had been a stationary/print shop & before that Adrienne’s florist. Well we got on really well with the landlord, loved the space & the rent of course so decided to take the plunge. Craig planned the internal layout & with the help of family & friends especially Craig’s parents who were there all hours the inside was eventually finished. The night before we were due to open Craig, his parents & friend Mark were there till the early hours finishing off some painting, crazy but it all worked out in the end. We opened the salon with myself & two girls that I had been teaching at TDC & had offered positions to. We had no set opening hours except we closed Sunday, we had decided initially to let the demand of the clients dictate our hours & I guess as they say the rest is history! Well not quite as a lot more has happened since then –
I am at this point thinking of it getting quite emotional, thinking of my in-laws & their constant never ending support for us from the beginning but also because I can say I’m truly blessed to think of the clients – no Friends – who’s hair I have been styling since those days. There were people who I used to visit when I was freelance that I had got to know in my previous employment & our friendships have continued since then. Oh my goodness to think how long I have known these people & how long you have supported us. Thank You is an understatement.
And so so many of you that have been with us since we first opened our doors in Farsley – I’m lost for words & currently wiping my eyes thinking of you all. Words could never express my gratitude for your loyalty & continued support over the years. Without you we would simply be nothing. I value each & every one of you.
So there’s obviously a lot more to our story, expansion of Farsley through to the old post office, opening of our Pudsey location, our team, who left & came back within our team, who left & opened their own successful business, so much more to tell & a book to write on all the crazy things that have happened over the years but I won’t bore you now with anymore, but just to say thank you for your continued never ending support, for making me laugh & quite often cry everyday, for allowing me to be part of your lives – a part of our job which I think is a true privilege, that you share yourselves with us, you share your experiences with us. To enable me to learn from all of you. You share your time, your lives with us. My job, our jobs as stylists & therapist’s is obviously to provide you with the best services we can but it’s honestly thanks to all of you so much more than that – its a friendship like no other.
Oh wow, sorry everyone, if your still reading at this point you must think I’m isolation crazy, losing the plot & rambling, so sorry.
So this week Craig has discovered his love of baking. Gayle gave us some rhubarb & he did a rhubarb crumble which has then led to chocolate cake & scones (both his mum’s recipes). My mother in law was a great baker so guessing he gets it from her.However the calories, I don’t think my jeans will fit much longer!!
So I hope everyone managed to again enjoy the weather this week, we’ve been so lucky.

Still no news on Amy’s baby this week & for those of you that have been asking Nicola is not due back with us from maternity leave until around September.
So at the moment we still have no idea when we will be able to re open, we simply have to wait for it to be a safe working environment for everyone but honestly if in the meantime we can help with anything, please do let us know. This week we have posted products & gift cards out & I have video called with some of you. You can reach me by any of the methods below.
For those that are sending me photos & news about your families thank you, it’s lovely to hear from you, as you have family around the globe it’s like travelling the world with your photos from scorching temperatures to snow pics this week – so amazing.
For now to those of you that are key workers or working in any capacity at the moment to help keep our lives “normal”, Thank You.
