Afternoon everyone, hope you are safe & well this week & managing to enjoy the nice weather we’ve had today. Fingers crossed it continues.
Lots of you have been getting in touch this last couple of weeks regarding a re-opening date, sadly we know no more than you other than what is usually in the press is mis-leading. We are still awaiting any announcements from Boris Johnson & until we do we are currently just offering to place you on a wait list rather than booking appointments. We are planning for our return & are in the process of provisionally organizing team training days for what our “new normal” will be the week before 4th July, planning for the extreme & then any changes can be adapted to as & when necessary. If you are not already on our wait list or have any concerns about visiting our salons please do get in touch.
For those of you that have managed to neither cut or colour your own hair, amazingly well done, trust me we all know how challenging it has been, I have cut my own fringe twice already but have resisted anything else. For those of you that have coloured your own hair please all we ask is that you are honest with us & let us know in advance & especially when we contact you to offer you an appointment, that said if you have managed this far please, please do not consider applying anything now, we are on the home straight I feel sure & for the sake of a few more weeks it could mean the difference of months of expensive, time consuming correction work. Embrace those “badger stripes”, who remembers that from the first weeks – how long ago does that seem!!!
So this week we have been setting up our online shop. We have started with some of our products that are on sale & our most popular products, please feel free to take a look. More products will be added weekly, & the shop will be developed further, however if a product you require is not on there yet just get in touch via any of the methods at the bottom of this email & we will get back to you as soon as possible. We have been delivering locally since March. The shop just saves you having to contact us directly if you prefer.
And now as promised last week I’m handing the rest of this week’s email over to Alison, enjoy:
Hello everyone
Well, as Lynn teased you all last week that I may write this weeks email, I could not wait to get started. As you all know, I can talk, And this is the second best way for me to do that to all of you now, so eyes down and let’s go.
I would like to start by saying that I hope you, and all your loved ones are continuing to stay well and safe.
As the lockdown measures are slowly being relaxed by the government it has allowed everyone, myself included, to begin seeing a little more of family and friends for chats in the garden or even a BBQ. As Lynn mentioned last week, I, like many of you I’m sure, have celebrated a lock down Birthday. I was fortunate that it was after the relaxed measures were announced so my brother very kindly hosted a small BBQ in his garden to celebrate. It was lovely to see my niece and her boyfriend. A good time for everyone and another sore head for me . I don’t seem to learn with age, does that ever really happen, I wonder? .
No parents at the BBQ as they have been in isolation for 12 weeks to stay safe but both are really well and we are in contact all the time. Mum is desperate to get out of the house. Not sure if she misses the shops or if she’s fed up of dad . Bit of both probably.
Like all of you, I have been reading Lynn’s weekly emails and would like to say thank you to her and to all of you for staying in touch and for your responses. Lynn does a great job and she does forward your responses to me, it’s great to hear how you are all getting on.
I am in touch with Lynn regularly just to remind her I’m here, like I’m ever going to let her forget x.
I remember the day of Ellie’s birth very well. 1 phone call, 1 very sore head and 1 baby girl. After I had put pink balloons and banners in the window. A lady opened the door and excitedly asked who’d had a baby. When I said Lynn, there was a long pause then she said, ‘but Lynn cut my hair yesterday and she wasn’t pregnant then’ . We both started laughing and I said I can understand why she thought that. Lynn has the neatest small bump that was so easily disguised by the colour apron she adopted throughout her pregnancy.
Ellie was a petite bundle of joy and she has grown into a kind and beautiful young woman x.
As I’m sure you are aware. We are hoping the government will allow us to open in July. I hope you have all kept patience with your hair and are managing it ok. Like yours, my hair has grown. So much so I can now tie it back, which I have been doing on days where I have been in the house doing jobs all day. It’s very unruly and the grey hair is there in abundance. I love my purple shampoo though, it really does blend the grey with my highlights so makes my hair look much more fresh. Thank you Neal and Wolf xx.
We will all have decisions to make about our hair in a few weeks time. Long or back to short? To colour or not to colour? (Definitely colour for me ladies!! ).
Food for thought I think.
Remember, we are here for all your hair and beauty questions and for any advice you require.
Love to you all from Lynn & Alison xx
